I've been watching for this topic, but didn't found it. Maybe I'm not the first, asking this question, but now I want to know (and hopefully many of you too): Which is your favourite Equilibrium character?I really like most of the characters of EQ, but I think my favourite character is Errol Partridge. (Of course Preston too, but he isn't the only interesting character of the movie.)I wish he would have survived, but this would have stopped the whole story. Maybe the second part (and I'm sure, that someday there will be a sequel ;D) will show some memories of him or maybe it looks into past, when he is still alive. Now it is on you! Please tell us all your personal favourite!

Thank you for these many answers! ;D And please feel welcome to tell us more. I asked my sister. She told me that she likes Robbie Preston most, because he is such a cool and cold person at the beginning of the movie and a lovely helpful boy at the end. (and also a kind of guardian angel for John, if you remember the Prozium he hides from the sweepers) I like him too for the same reasons, but I like Preston senior and Partridge more. (And I have to confess that I think that father is much cooler than Dupont. Sorry, Aedh. )

What makes this site so great is that we can all have different preferences while sharing common interests. ;D

Finally I asked my brother about his opinion too. And he answered to me that he likes Jurgen most.
I think that's an unusual answer, isn't it?

Has to be John... or that cute as Hades puppy! Girls are loving the Hades puppy! It's the same with all the girls I know, who have seen EQ. Or does anyone of you knows a girl don't loving this puppy? ;D

I love when John is about to leave and the puppy is panting and looking up at the car/John. Around the 50 minute mark. SO cute. ;D

If that's fact, I think you are near to cry when the sweepers are shooting all these dogs. Am I right? (That's a one of these many impressive moments in the movie and Bale shows his class as an actor again.)

Personally I have to admit I also like the Hades puppy. If it had been a bunch of cats instead ... um ... well I dunno.
Actually, a bunch of cats would probably have been impossible to round up like that anyway. "Herding cats" is a proverbial American expression that indicates a difficult, long, and meaningless task.

I actually have the same reaction he does- wincing. He is such a great actor- and he has had no formal training (even more impressive).

Now let me ask this. What if it had been a rabbit?
If you think about it, rabbits would actually be great pets for Librian Resistance Members to keep. For one thing rabbits don't make noise like dogs and cats, so they're less likely to be detected. And if they WERE detected, it would be easier to aver that they were not pets, but being raised for food.
Of course, the scene would then go flat because a rabbit wouldn't bark in the car boot like the puppy did.
Raising your own animals for food would seem to be a pastime suitable for Librians; one would expect a Prozium-dosed person to have no feelings about wringing an animal's neck and preparing it for dinner.

But some persons even wouldn't mind about wringing the neck of a rabbit, even without Prozium. But if this wouldn't be the case, we couldn't eat flesh for dinner. Are we like Librians too? I wouldn't be able to kill a rabbit by myself I think.

Well ... I think rabbits can kind of whistle when they're really alarmed. I've never heard that myself though.

My friend has a rabbit and it snores very loudly. So I can imagine that. But I think we are loosing the topic right now. So maybe we should come back, or shouldn't we? If you already told your opinion, you could ask some friends for their favourite EQ character. (just a suggestion)

Hey, I'm a German student. I've got just mark 2 in English, which is just the second best mark. Mistakes can be done always. I want to see you writing in German. That possibly would be EC-100. Wrong board language. ;D (I'm just kidding, mistakes can happen always. I want to apologize for that. )

No one votes for Mary yet.... hmmmmm, interesting.... To be honest, Mary isn't a figure I remember of, when I'm thinking of this movie. I like her and she is very important for the story, but she isn't the person coming to my mind when thinking about favourite characters of EQ.

DuPont is a close second - Angus McFadyen just rocks, and he works the bad guy so well. I have to say, I can never quite make up my mind about Mary. Sometimes I like her, and sometimes I don't.

I'd be glad if I could read your fan fic.. So please tell me if you have finished it and where I can read it. (To be honest I also think about a story showing Partridges past and how he became a member of the resistance and I've got some good ideas for it, but I don't have the time for writing it. ) I've finally asked my mum. And just guess what she replied. You will be pretty surprised: It's the white suit Preston wears at the end of the movie. She loves this one. Her answer is understandable if you know that she is a tailor and that she specially looks at the costumes if she watches a movie. This is a kind of "profession illness". (Can I express it this way? Or do I course misunderstandings? ) For me the suit is pretty cool and she says it's perfectly made. ;D But I think the black cleric suit is a little bit cooler. (just a little bit )
