Neverthless, I'm glad he pulled off UV .... even if it was flawed in the end. I've heard it said that "anything worth doing is worth doing right." My own version goes: "anything worth doing is worth doing wrong." Meaning that worries over criticism and mistakes should not deter you from creating what YOU know to be worthwhile. I look forward to his next project, whatever it will be.

Kurt is back to writing though, and one of his ideas got bought up recently, so I'm sure he'll come back with something. He got overabitious with UV. If he gets back in the director chair, it'll probably be a more modest project. Much as I hate to say it, I do hope that it is one of the non-sci-fi projects that he mentioned when he spoke at UT. He literally has scripts that he keeps in a closet somewhere. Something that won't break his back to make, and something that will keep idiots in Hollywood from pidgeon-holing him.

Yeah, I think it is unfortunate that a distinctive director like Wimmer keeps getting the shaft while far less talented directors like Michael Bay and Paul WS Anderson get all the support they need.

I dunno ... I'm getting a feeling that Kurt IS finished. But maybe that's just typical December depression fuelling that.
