In some ways you are lucky to have discovered Equilibrium on DVD because I've been going through months of withdrawals!!!
Thanks for the scan.

JenGe: You're so welcome! I can understand the withdrawal - this is the first movie in a long time that as soon as it finished - I felt like 'rewinding' it and starting it all over again. It really pulled me in and last night when I got a friend to watch it, she was so cynical and dubious at first (bagging the intro) but within half an hour, she was hooked and didn't want to stop watching. I've already gone and bought another copy of the DVD to post back to Australia to my brother. The conversion process continues With Moulin Rouge, I always call Ewen singing "Your Song", "The Moment" that determines whether someone loves or hates it. If they don't love the movie by that point, they're not going to. I'm trying to determine "The Moment" in EQ which draws you in like that. It might be the quiet moment with Sean Bean and his Yeats "I pay it gladly" or it might be an action sequence further along......

As for converting people, when the DVD hits the shelves next week I'll be buying two copies. One that will never leave my presence and the other to loan to everyone else who refused to be dragged to the theater with me.
Sorry, couldn't get into Moulin Rouge though I do love the "Your Song" segment. I think a tad too goofy for me.
The moment in EQ that got me hooked was the "darkroom" segment. I'm not sure how well that will translate to the small screen but sitting there is a dark, soundless theater for those few moments and then have Preston break into the hail of strobe-shotting was a cinema experience I'll never forget...pure magic.

That was definitely when I got hooked too, SOOOO glad I got to see that at the cinema!!! Straight after that scene I said to myself I'm so going to buy this!!! Thanx koalabear for the scan - NICE!

While surfing the net yesterday I found another DVD review. It seems that the DVD reviewers are being quite a bit more reasonable than the cinematic critics were. He did get some facts wrong though. I liked this part... "Just when I thought The Matrix set the bar for intense one-on-many action sequences, here comes Equilibrium out of nowhere to raise that bar even more. While I'm sure the two Matrix sequels will easily outdo anything in Equilibrium, I never thought anything could ever come close to the intensity of the first Matrix film." www.dvdangle.com/reviews/review.php?Id=3092&beenHere=1
