Good for you man, good for you. Now go cry about it on livejournal. The mod will be released when the team thinks it's fit for it.

Personally, i want the HOM mod to be the best it can be, so if a later release equals a better mod, go for it i say, better to wait than get something the Crew isnt happy with

I will admit that it's somewhat difficult to vote for this as Mod of the Year when it's unavailable... I realise that there are difficulties in getting this ready, but as there've been several dates stated for release and subsequently missed, could we have a more realistic update on proposed release date? I'd rather have an attainable release date further down the track than get my hopes up only to hear 'not yet' again. Thanks

That would suck! But then on the other hand, the mod might be better. But i think it would have lost a lot of followers by that time. Thats why a release date is important, how long do one test the patience of the fans.

Jupp... the latest newspost on the website is from 6th November. (the "vote for mod of the year" form 6th december... uhm, lol?) "And when we say soon we mean soon, the mod is very close to completion."
Now we have 16th January. 2 months later... What's the problem in posting: We had some problems with xyz and still can't give any release date, but we are alive.
And don't tell anything about "setting up mirrors"... use bittorrent ;-)

Or maybe we're just sitting on it because people keep complaining about release dates we never promised them. Never have I once given anyone any assurance that the mod would be released at one point, I think I've been good at being as vague as possible... When I announce a release date I'm going to stick to it.
We'll release when we feel like it and how we feel like it. "Use bittorrent"... If we handled things like that how many people think would be able to get it? A quarter of the people who follow the mod? Less? Not everyone knows how to use BT, let alone even heard of the thing. So no, we'll be using regular file mirrors and if any fans want to start a torrent with the file, go right ahead.
I don't mean to be harsh it's just that I'm a little sick of people pestering for release dates. Even we don't know when it will happen for sure and I think it's safe to assume that when *we* know, we'll let you know about it.

Well let us all stop nagging about a release date, but rico, one tip, not to be rude but if wait times are too long, and ppl see no progress, or no light at the other end, they usually turn back. Only the hardcore fans will stay. Ill wait for this mod as long as i have too, but im not sure everyone will. Anyways, keep up the good work!

You didn't give any release date - that's ok, but a "very soon" sounds like "next 2 weeks" for me. No one really needs a release date for a community mod. Release dates don't even work in gaming industry where people are payed for their work. - so don't give a date until it's: "tomorrow". That's ok and better for your nerves. You want this mod to be as good as possible - so you want people to play it. You even want to vote us - so you want us to play it. And we want to show our respect (screenshots look still great!) - so we really want to play it. The internet ist full of informations... when I read about this project, bookmarked the page and said "great, have to tell all my friends about it... release soon... wow!" I checked the site a few days regulary, and then... no updates, no informations. Uhm, check the forum... a few posts, nothing really interesting. So I simply forgott the site for a while, and even to tell my friends about it. I think in the internet-age information is a must to keep people entertained... so a bit information here and there harms nobody and keeps your fans entertained Concerning bittorrent... Mod-Useres are gamer, gamers know a lot about filesharing and I would say at least 30-50% interested in mods know about bittorent, and another 10% is willing to learn. So bittorrent could help to distribute the mod. You still need mirrors and regular http/ftp downloads, but maybe some less. my2cents... [edit]: typo

Trust me, your 2 cents is duly noted.
What is really starting to annoy me now, is when people say "...others will not wait for this mod." Which is really a thinly vieled statement on their own behalf that they want this mod now - like some petchulant child that wants their milk & cookies NOW.
Like its their right to have it.
I'm locking this thread now anyway as its about to become redundant. I see anymore pop up & they'll be deleted.
