JenGe's not the only one who can't wait to see your pics, Preston. ...particularly since my 2006 USA Shooting Team calendar arrived today. It's mostly pictures of historically important pistols and rifles, "this shotgun belonged to Ernest Hemingway" and "this flintlock was carried on the Lewis and Clark expedition". Anyway, Jan 2006 has a shot of "Derringers of the Old West", the sort of guns gamblers used when they got caught cheating at cards. One of them is in an 1800s era "Myers wrist rig". As soon as I can find a shot of the calendar online I'll post it. If anyone "beats me to the draw" so to speak, feel free to link it first!

Crikey! You've made a spring-loaded (okay, rubber band loaded) pistol rig! I thought you were talking about a basic wrist band with a spring clasp to hold the gun in place. That's a complete delivery system, just like the film! They're illegal as all hell with real guns pretty much for the reasons seen in Equilibrium and Taxi Driver, or going back further to the TV show "the Wild Wild West". Here's a shot of one from the series. www.cia.gov/spy_fi/item21.htmlYou'll notice yours is very, very close to the pro-built prop!

That's so cool, Preston!! What an ingenius use for Legos! My son has them but I would never have thought to build something like that. I didn't think the wrist holster was possible. I didn't now that it was in "The Wild Wild West." I remember watching that as a kid, the opening animation still sticks in my head. Thanks for the link, Observer. Very cool stuff.

I never knew that james used one. i used to watch that show all the time on some channel. I resently bought taxi driver and watched it and i took the basic design from that. but im just 15 and dont have the tools to make it out of metal yet. >< like i said before, i plan on more pics and a video to post, so you can all see it work. there are still a couple gliches though. beings it made of legos, the stop piece tends to bend a little, causing it to come out at the most ackward times. like while im drilling in JROTC and stab someone with it. ^__^ ive gtg ill be back later with more. bye!! -Preston

i would like to see that, but it looks like that its not attached to the gun, but i think it has kind of a grabber at the end making with legos will be a lil comlicated...lol wait maybe when he flexes his wrist a mechinism doodad throws the gun down and when he flexs his wrist a diffrent way it reloads the gun

The ones used in EQ must be possible to replicate, they fit the Berretas, why shouldnt we be able to get our hand on one of them?

"You talkin' to me? Huh? You talkin' to me?" I'll leave that as a movie clue. It's a cool rig! Even for a prototype, the photos say it all: There's a gun sliding out of that guy's sleeve! If you're going to build an airsoft rig, don't wear it any place it might be confused for a real gun or engage accidentally. ...especially these days. I can't wait to see your second gen. rig. It could have some interesting gun kata applications. www.naaminis.com/380.html

I must say, for a home job, that's really well done.
I have two moulded plastic wrist holsters for my two Walther CP99's (CO2 Powered).
My two look like the last picture posted, but all plastic, I must post up pictures.
I made them for a Design and Technology Assignment. My teacher loved the idea (Ex-military) and helped me a lot throughout the project, so we ended up making 5 of them (3 right handed, 2 left).
All in all, superb job Preston.

Really cool stuff, it may not be a identical prop replica, but I always like looking at the kind of cool stuff people can make.

Would it be able to actualy hold the weight of a fully loaded handgun? I dunno if the parts you find around the house could do that.
